Notes from the board meeting 29 April 2000 at Marienlyst, Helsingör

Attendees: Bo Servenius (president), Bengt Persson (treasurer), Sören Brunak, Esko Ukkonen, Inge Johanssen, Jan Komorowski (co-opt)

1. The bioinformatics conference next year

The main alternative is Trondheim 10--13 May 2001. The backup alternative is Skövde 29 March--1 April 2001.
The local organising committees for 2001 were elected:

Jan Komorowski and a further person to be elected later for the Trondheim alternative.
Dan Lundh and a further person to be elected later for the Skövde alternative.

The programme committee for 2001 was elected:

Alvis Brazma, Sören Brunak, Finn Drablös, Arne Elofsson, Mark Johnson, Inge Jonassen, Jan Komorowski, Bengt Persson, Bo Servenius

We plan for 450 people -- there is a 600-seat-lecture hall available.
A preliminary budget will be sent by Jan Komorowski to Sören Brunak and Bengt Persson for discussion.
Tutorial should be held on the first day (10 May) before noon.
Oral presentations of about 10 posters.
Subjects for the sessions will be discussed over E-mail.

It was decided to form three E-mail lists:

socbin-board@mbox.mbb.ki.se for the board of SocBiN
socbin-pc01@mbox.mbb.ki.se for the programme committee.
