1. The bioinformatics conference next year
-
The available proposals were discussed and it was decided that next year's
conference should take place in Trondheim with Jan Komorowski as local
organiser. As a backup alternative, University of Skövde was chosen
with Dan Lundh as local organiser.
-
2. Need and purpose for a society
-
It was discussed wheter there is a need for a Society for Bioinformatics
or not. The main advantages were found to be that a society gives longterm
stability, instead of ad hoc solutions, and facilitates external and internal
interactions. It was decided to propose to formally establish the society
at the plenary meeting 28 April.
-
3. Bylaws
-
Bo Servenius presented the proposal for bylaws, which after a few modifications
were decided to be the proposition from the interim board at the plenary
meeting 28 April.
-
4. Economy
-
Bengt Persson presented the economy from last year's conference, where
a small surplus of 10 000 SEK could be used for the small administration
of the Society, e.g. bank account, internet domain address.
-
5. Proposal for the board
-
Bo Servenius presented a proposal for a board with members from all Nordic
countries (except Iceland where we still have no volonteer). The board
meeting decided to present this proposal at the meeting 28 April.
